James J. Jagoda
Jim has a wide range of experience in all phases of intellectual property practice, with a focus on litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Jim’s extensive litigation experience includes all aspects of the complaint through appeal. He has taken and defended depositions and drafted numerous motions and briefs, including U.S. Supreme Court Certiorari petitions. Jim has prepared several large cases for trial, including fact and expert witness preparation, exhibit preparation, deposition designations, and jury instructions. Jim has argued many motions before the courts and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Jim is a member of the Illinois bar, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh, District of Columbia, and Federal Circuits. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Jim is a retired Captain from the Western Springs Fire Department.
